Inspirational story of Chefstomer how he fought with Type 2 diabetes

Hello. I am Chef Marc St. Omer and I want to share with you the journey of my life through which I fought type 2 diabetes. But first, we must understand what is diabetes? And more specifically, what is type 2 diabetes and type 2 diabetes symptoms? There are three types of diabetes, Type 1, Type 2 and gestational diabetes. 90% of all diabetes cases account for diabetes Type 2. It is characterized by an increased amount of glucose in the blood due to a lack of insulin in the body.

This glucose is normally used by the body cells for energy but in diabetes, the glucose builds up in the blood. The cells don’t get enough energy to work and this glucose build-up damages the entire body, for example, it increases the frequency of infection and urination, it also causes blurry vision and without the proper diabetes management, it can even lead to kidney failure, heart diseases and blindness. We must also understand what causes type 2 diabetes.

The first and the foremost cause of diabetes is your genes. If you have diabetic history in your family then there are a lot of chances that you can get it too. Having an age of 45 or older and being overweight are also one of the few causes of diabetes.

The reason is that in these conditions, people are more prone to getting diseases. Either the immunity is weak or you have high cholesterol levels because of high cholesterol foods, high blood pressure or even some extra pounds along the waist line can cause the onset of diabetes. Therefore, you should be extra careful if you have one of these conditions.

On February 28, 2020, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. Before then, I have been on the edge of diabetes for the past 10 years. But after a struggle of years, I started to observe some signs and symptoms of diabetes.

This got me worried because I have seen what diabetes can do to people. It is like an infestation that eats up your body. I have seen my friends and many of my acquaintances lose limbs and even their lives to this deadly disease.

Therefore, with a heavy heart, I decided to do the A1C blood test, a blood test for diabetes which tells the hemoglobin level that is chemically linked to sugar. The results were just as I expected, I got the level of 6.6% which meant I have diabetes.

It is, without any doubt, true that more Americans are getting diabetic every day and this is spreading like a silent virus that slowly eats up your body till there’s nothing left inside. And when I got to know that I’m diabetic, it made me make a promise to myself that I will reverse this diagnosis.

I remember it distinctly that it was Friday that day when I made this promise that I will get this disease out of my body within six months. On that Friday, I started researching the natural remedies that can overcome this type 2 diabetes that has just been born inside me. I was also getting medication and was seeking counseling from health providers in order to get a wider perspective so that I can understand what I’m up against.

This was the time when I started my journey to find the healthy food for diabetes that are not only healthy and beneficial but have remedial characteristics too. And I must say, it has been an incredibly successful journey where I am observing the positive effects on my body on a daily basis.

Stay tuned for my upcoming pieces if you want to get your hands on all the information you need to make your life healthier and happier.
